Linda's celebration of the Fall season!
Anyone familiar with or living in Central Texas may wonder where Linda gets her inspiration. While area pumpkin stands and a few spots of color on Red Oak, Flame-leaf Sumac, Cypress other trees certainly help, most of it comes from travels into areas where fall truly pops. Fall trips to northern New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming; the northeast (Vermont and New Hampshire); as well as Eastern Oklahoma, Arkansas, and the Blue Ridge Mountains that run from Georgia up to Pennsylvania have added to her collection of reference photos.
For these paintings, watercolor is her medium of choice.
"I love both the vibrancy and transparency of watercolor," Linda says. In addition to traditional watercolor, Linda has started working in gouache, an opaque watercolor.
